An Account of Ron Hubbard's Original Clearing Course (2)
Warning: These materials are only to be read and used by students ready for the Level. To qualify you have to have attested to Grade 6, R6-EW or above and have done a full Solo Auditors Course.
When auditing the CC Implants it is important to follow the Platens exactly. They give a detailed map of the Implants that are to be audited.
As described in the previous chapter there are ten identical Runs in this Bank. Each Run vary from the next one only in time. The series of the five Parts Implants was, in other words, given repeatedly.
So we have five Implants or Parts repeated 10 times or a total of 50 Implants in the CC materials. Within each of these 5 different Implants there are again numerous Items as you, in due time, will see on the individual Platens.
Each Run of 5 Parts consisted of the following Implants:
Part A - The Sevens
Part B - The Basic End-Words
Part C - The Confusion GPM
Part D - The Objects - hollow
Part E - The Objects - solid
Part A, B, and C have verbal content. Part D and E are visual Implants and have no verbal content.
The very earliest phenomenon in the CC Implants is a light. It's the first thing in Part A.
It appears slightly to the left of your line of sight a short distance away. You simply spot it when called for in the Platens.
It is the source of unconsciousness and can produce anaten or grogginess when contacted.
In the CC Implants the light appears frequently. There is a light before each run and throughout the Sevens GPM (Part A); again, at the start of the Basic End-words (Part B) and at the start of the Confusion GPM (Part C), at the start of the Objects (Parts D and E) and at the end of each type of Item in the Objects (every eight items). Each time you feel groggy, it's because of a light in the Implant.
Each major change, then, is preceded by the light. Flatten each one by spotting it repeatedly and the Thetan as well. Any grogginess can be spotted away. When the light went on, the Thetan went anaten. Should the Solo-auditor go anaten in the session it is handled by spotting the anaten in the Thetan when running a light.
When you spot a light or object or combination of objects, you should get a read on the needle. By spotting the same thing again, you get another read. By spotting it again, you get another read. You spot the light or object repeatedly until no more reads occur by reason of spotting. You should get as many falls etc. from spotting a light or object as you do from calling an item.
Early to Later
When auditing out these Implants as a Solo-auditor you start with the very first Implant in the first Run and take up the first Item listed (which happens to be a light) and then go forward in time from there. The Solo-auditor has to be careful of staying in the correct Run, starting with number one.
You use a piece of paper to cover the Items not yet run. When an Item is flat, you move your paper down one line and begin to run that Item.
This type of auditing is different from ordinary Engram- and incident-running where you ask for an incident, handle it and then find an earlier similar one to run. Since we in Engram running don't have a map beforehand we have to take it up in that sequence and work our way back in time until the Basic incident that held the Chain in place is finally found and handled.
When using the Platens, however, we have this tremendous advantage of having a complete map of what needs to be run.
The earlier we can go the more charge we will find and the more effectively we can confront and handle this charge.
But since these Implants are heavily charged and the incidents are very hidden we cannot take it for granted that just because we have apparently erased the earliest and most basic part of this whole series of engramic incidents that the totality of the 50 Implants (5 Parts x 10 Runs) are magically gone.
Instead we will find that the next Item closer to present time now forms a new Basic that has to be audited in turn. But you will also find, as you go forward, that Items erase easier and easier. Eventually they may start to blow by inspection.
It is important that this whole section of track is gone over with a fine toothcomb to make sure that all available charge is taken up systematically and permanently erased. When all available charge is off this whole maze of Implants, Runs, Items, lights, objects, etc. the Preclear is complete on the Level. This may happen at some point well before all Platens and Runs have been gone through; but don't just go for 'release' or big win. You want to erase it all and thus achieve the permanent state of Clear. But when it is all gone it is gone and there is no reason to try and find it.
As explained in the previous chapter this type of auditing is a very disciplined activity and you don't want to fool around in these relative dangerous waters but only do what the material tells you to do. You don't fool around to find dates, identities, past lives, amazing facsimiles, or the like things that are considered attractive to find in normal incident running. By sticking to the procedure in a workman-like fashion you are safe. If you fool around you are at risk.
Do your Repeater Technique routine to discharge Items. When we have Goals and other verbal content as Items you simply keep repeating the Item aloud and get all the reads out of it. It should give a series of Long Falls, Falls, and Small Falls of gradually smaller size. An Item may even occasionally start out with giving a Blowdown before going into the smaller and smaller reads. The sizes of reads varies from case to case.
Spotting Self and Items
Part of this technique is "to spot the Thetan in the incident". You spot your own spiritual self at the time this incident was received. The Implant Items that don't have a verbal content (lights, objcets) are also simply spotted repeatedly in silence and the reads this activity produces are of about the same size and are handled the same way as above.
It is important to be able to spot "the Thetan" in the Item. Each Item has an impression of the Being (you) as he was at the moment this mass was formed long ago. Unless one spots this presence each time, the Item will not erase and mass will build up gradually.
So it is important to be able to "locate the Thetan at the time of the incident". You spot this with your attention rather than with actual vision of course. You can at the same time spot an Item and the Thetan in the incident. Spotting the Thetan reads well.
You have to make sure to spot it for each Item you run. One can 'spot the Thetan' and the Item at the same time. This can be done whether you are spotting the Thetan in a called Item (verbal) or in a silent Item of a physical shape and motion. Starting out you would do 'spotting the Thetan' and running the Item as two separate actions. You call or spot the Item a few times and then also spot the Thetan several times until the Meter reaction is gone.
It does not matter that much in what sequence or combination you do this. The right way is simply the way that produces the most reads. You look for the earliest occurrence of the Thetan in the incident you can possibly find.
There is a tiny bit of mass formed right at the start of an Item. It is a result of the Thetan protesting the Implant. This tiny mass is enough to form a tiny basic charge that holds the rest of the incident in place.
You don't have to see the Thetan or see the light or objects to spot them. You only need to spot the place where you are with the idea of what should be there. Of course, seen at first or not, continued spotting makes it vanish.
When the proper technique no longer gives a reaction for an Item you go on to the next Item. The next Item should now give good reads, approximately of the same size as the previous Item did.
If Meter Stops Reading
When going forward on a given Platen auditing these Items you may suddenly find that you don't get the reads you should expect. If the Meter goes dead or locks up you should assume it is because you have missed some charge earlier. How to get the Meter to read again is an important part of the skills you have to develop. It is relatively simple but at the same time a make and break point of the Level.
The first rule is simply: never just go on forward past an unreading Item.
You may have training that tells you just to go on until you find the next charged Item on a list, but that is not how the Platens work. Each Item is charged and this charge has to be found and bled off before one can safely proceed and expect to benefit from the auditing.
The basic rules of auditing apply to this auditing. To be able to do this smoothly and correctly the student has to have completed a Solo-auditors course before attempting to run these Platens. You can find these Solo-auditor data and courses at several locations, including an online manual, part of Clearbird Publishing's 'The Road to Clear'.
The Solo-auditor has to observe the Auditors Code when he takes himself in session. He should not evaluate or invalidate what he audits but simply discharge the things he contacts. He has to be able to handle Solo TRs correctly, including TR-4, handling (own) originations smoothly.
Schedule and Duration
The way to get results and get through the Level is to be disciplined and methodical. You should schedule a daily session. Schedule two hours and run as long as you can. It is normal to run between one and two hours at the time. When you end a session end it. Do not go around and think of what you ran. Just close the book on it and get on with your life and normal living.
Make sure you keep yourself sessionable while on the Level. This consists of getting enough sleep, make sure you get nutritious food and vitamins and that you stay away from alcohol 24 hours before session and don't take painkillers etc. while active on the program. This is normal 'Preclear's hat' that your C/S will keep an eye on if you don't.
The whole Level usually takes a couple of months to complete if you keep at it. It can vary largely from person to person, but it is a finite activity. The important thing is to keep at it, working at it on a daily basis as if you were digging a long ditch. Don't try to make up for lost time. Make sure to keep your daily schedule in the first place.
The Cause of Trouble
Ron Hubbard gives this advice to avoid trouble:
"The only way one can get ill, or in trouble, is not auditing, in trying to "correct" the Items given, or, in not following instructions.
"The following doesn't make Items read properly: Loud shouting. Body movement while calling. Fiddling the one-hand electrode. Tensing muscles. Getting angry with the lack of a read. Gritting teeth. Auditing past an ARC break. Doing a List 7 (the correction list) every time you donít get a read or feel odd.
"What makes Items read properly is the following: Doing regular sessions. Not self auditing out of session. Staying calm. Keeping calm. Keeping the Auditorís Code on the PC (you). Following directions exactly. Adding nothing. Finding ARC breaks - when they happen - with a List 7. Auditing in a place you feel secure and where you won't be disturbed. Audit daily. Not auditing too long at one time, 1 to 2 hours is optimum, closer to 1 than 2. Not trying to get rid of it all at once. Considering it a routine piece of ditch digging. Not expecting to fly suddenly. Not dwelling on your case out of session.
"When you end a session, end it. Be plodding and methodical. Just get on with it, get all the reads off by calling or spotting, going on to the next Item but, if it doesnít read, get more off last Item and return by going forward to the one that wouldnít read. Getting in the Buttons 'Suppressed', 'Invalidated', 'Protested', when needed only. Checking for earlier or later Runs only when in trouble. Only handle trouble when it arrives. Donít try to handle it before it does."
Note: When an Item doesn't read you can check the Buttons per above:
"On (Item) has anything been suppressed?"
"On (Item) has anything been invalidated?"
"On (Item) has anything been protested?"
Any read on one of these Buttons can simply be taken as a valid read on the Item. This is part of C/S Series 1, "Auditor's Rights".
Note: If there is a read on one of these Buttons, allow the Pre-OT to itsa about it if appropriate. This is part of "getting in the Button". "Getting in the Button" is not just mechanically calling the Button and marking the read and ignoring the PC. "Has anything been suppressed?" (Read). Pre-OT states what comes to mind to clean it up and rechecks. It is not a rote procedure, but getting out of the way what prevented a read in the first place.
By the way: When auditing on the Level don't make a lot of decisions about your auditing and how it is going, etc. Your ability to postulate is increasing and a decision that an Item is now "flat" may cause it to stop to read. But what is happening is, that your decision made it behave that way. The Item will still be there and capable of keying in and knock you down at a later time. The above Buttons should however reveal if an Item stopped reading due to your decision.
You can get bored with how many reads it takes to flatten an Item. Make sure to use 'boredom' as a Button.
You always run the earliest Item first. You call it or spot it and flatten it this way before going on to next Item. Complete the Items in the sequence given in the Platens this way.
You call/spot the Item and mark its reads in your report until there no longer are reads to be gotten. Then you call/spot the next Item on your Platen and mark its reads, until discharged.
Some Items consist of Pairs, say consisting of Goal 1 and Goal 2. You call 1,1,1,1 until no read. Then 2,2,2,2, etc. until no read. Then you check the Pair as such 1,2,1,2,1, etc. until the Pair no longer has any charge left to run.
You keep two simple auditing reports:
1) You keep worksheets where you note beginning and end of session and anything besides simply calling the Items.
2) You have another sheet that simply is a record of all the reads you get while calling/spotting the Items from the Platens. You use shorthand and a number system to show where you are at. You leave enough room after finishing an Item to be able to go back and run it some more if it turns out it wasn't flat on the first run. The exact admin is explained in the chapter after this. But the idea is that all the reads for one Item is kept together regardless of when it was run or rerun.
If a new Item does not read the first time it is called you first of all check it with Buttons. If it still doesn't read you have left the Item just before (or possibly earlier Item) still charged. So you simply go back and call the earlier Item again and get the read or reads off it, making sure you donít go into a later Run. Then you call the Item that didnít read the first time and you will find it now reads well and instantly.
When you leave an Item to go back to a previous one, mark the Items worksheet with a slash (/). If you have to go back more than one Item, put one slash (/) for each Item you back-step. If you go back three Items, you write 3 slashes (///) in the Item line you left and you put in a - (hyphen) at the end of the reads already there in each Item line you back-step. If you had to go back 3 Items to again get the Meter to read properly you now in turn rerun each of the Items in sequence when you again go forward.
This traffic of going back to catch all possible reads can be overdone. You risk to get into later Runs unknowingly. Therefore, you have to stay alert to what Run you are in and avoid this type of overrun.
But never ignore the fact that a new Item
didnít read the first time it was called. It always means you didnít get all
reads off the Item immediately before, or that you failed to spot the Thetan at
You just never go past a non-reading Item.
When running the materials, you find you get a
certain amount of reads on an Item (Fs, LFs, sBDs, BDs). The following
Item in the same session will give approximately the same amount of reads. If
this is not the case, and you only get a few reads, you go back to the previous
Item that read well and you will find there is more charge on it. After that the
next Item will read with approximately the same number of reads as the previous
one. Sometimes you will find it is a Pair you just left that is still very
charged and alive. Flatten them.
Mark all reads or lack of them.
If you go forward, Item after Item, without getting any reads at all, you will become quite upset. Do not go past non-reading Items. Find out what is wrong immediately and remedy it.
By-passed Charge: You may run into an upset or charge that doesn't simply resolve by backtracking a few steps. If that is the case you can use the correction list for the Level, List Seven, on yourself. It is designed to find reasons for pain or upset and resolve them in short order.
Wooden Face: A wooden feeling in the face is caused by pulling later Items that are also pulled in out of sequence. Sort it out with a List 7 unless it is obvious what went wrong.
Pain: Occurs only when you left something still charged earlier. Find it and flatten it.
Sickness: is part of the somatic. It runs out. When you take great care in flattening every Item thoroughly most of such difficulties and troubles go away.
About the only thing that can make you ill on CC is your own errors. A common error is losing ones place on the Platen, whether skipping Items or not re-running in sequence.
Little can happen you cannot repair. But, at the start of a session, you may pick up, in error, something you have already run, or skip and pick up late. Example: you have done Item 33, you start at 29 the next session. More seriously, you have not done 41 to 44, but begin the next session at Item 45.
If you skip 4 Items you can very well
become sick. It can be 'colds', 'flu', 'dysentery', etc. The condition will
magically go away when the error is found and corrected.
To prevent becoming ill, be very careful of your place, very careful to pick up where you left off, very careful not to skip around or forget to run Items.
Observing these simple rules it should ensure smooth sailing. If you do become physically ill it is almost certain you missed Items and skipped something. The C/S would also make sure no unhandled PTS condition exists.
Pregnant women should not do this type of auditing but wait till after delivery.
Keep it Simple - Keep Going
There is no real benefits from "thinking deep thoughts" or try to figure out "the real meaning" related to these Items. What helps is simply bleeding the charge out of them. You simply keep calling or repeat the Item and it will happen.
If an Item keeps on reading donít try to suppress it. Items routinely read big and many times.
You may get as many as 25 or more large reads on every Item. The main thing is to flatten each Item for the Run you are in. Be sure to keep in the correct Run.
You can get bored with how many reads it takes
to flatten an Item. Make sure to use 'boredom' as a Button.
You shouldn't just throw away reads because you get tired of seeing them. Your purpose is to clean each Item, not make yourself interested or happy or entertained. A lot of it is just hard, slogging work.
If you clean the Items for charge as you go, all will be well.
You can sometimes erase an Item and have it then read as a Lock or a Lock Item.
Test it for 'a Lock?' (or 'is read due to a Lock Item?') if it just keeps reading.
If you find you only get small reads (ticks, small Falls) you should quickly check to see if there is any charge left on the previous Item; or check to see if you are in the correct Run. Falls and Blowdowns are expected on each Item, not just small reads. Donít go on calling the Item if you are getting small reads. Find the outness and correct it.
When this Bank is confronted in its
exactness, Item by Item in sequence it will erase without any resistance.
But we have also learned:
1. there is no haphazard blowing of Bank
2. No Item blows out of context
3. There are no prior holes blown in the Bank for anyone, no matter what the nature of any prior auditing might have been, until the Item has actually been contacted and run.
We Go for Erasure
You are not seeking Release from the Bank at this Level. You are erasing it. Therefore a sudden cognition of "the Bank has blown" usually means what happened was the PC has blown from the Bank. So get back in it and finish the job. Run it all out. Total erasure is the aim at this Level.
