Students doing TRs - Communication Drills |
Training Routines
The most basic skills you need to learn are communication
skills.
It's not about being entertaining or brilliant at parties or an outstanding public speaker.
It's more about being a good listener. You need to develop certain communications skills
that you use in the auditing
session, one-on-one.
You learn these skills by doing drills. You will spend many hours on them. We call them Training Routines or TRs. They are a lot of fun to do and will change your life all by themselves. You sit with your twin and practice the different parts or skills of communication, one skill at a time until you feel completely natural putting them all together.
You and your twin sit on two chairs about 1 meter (3 feet) apart and look at each other while doing the drills. Keeping attention on the client is an important part of being an auditor in session. In auditing you usually have a table between you and your twin. You have different tools on the table, but in the TRs you practice the basics with no distractions.
What you drill and become an expert at are the parts of what is called the communication formula or communication cycle.
Let us here briefly state what you drill to become good at:
To speak clearly; make sure your client understands you.
You become observant; you have a good idea of what is going on on the other side of the table.
You wait patiently for an answer and make sure you get one.
You understand the answer and acknowledge it with a "thank you" or appropriate acknowledgement, so your twin knows he has been understood.
Also, you learn to handle unexpected statements smoothly.
These are the basic actions. They allow the client to open up and find things even he didn't know about. You will learn a lot more about the communication cycle before you are done with this course.
Auditors Code
To become a good auditor you have to discipline
yourself into certain professional conduct
and behavior: things you must do and things you must not do when you
audit. The TRs above teach you part of that. But there is more you need to
know. One thing is of special importance: The Auditors Code. This is
a professional code of conduct that you always have to observe when you are
auditing. It is based on experience over many years. When the auditor observes
the Code closely, the audited twin will usually get excellent results and gains out of the
processing. However, when it is dealt with carelessly or broken, the twin will get a lot
less than the optimum results out of the processes. Two of the most important
points are:
Never tell the client (preclear) what to think about his problems; never try to solve his problems for him. Let him figure it out and help him to do that with the technology and its clever questions. To break that rule in auditing is bad. It's called evaluation.
Never tell him what you think is wrong with him - or worse, tell him he is wrong about something. Again, the whole purpose of auditing is to help the client (twin) to figure these things out for himself. To make wrong or contradict the client in processing is called invalidation. It's bad to do as an auditor as it's very counter-productive.
You will learn a number of other points of The Auditors Code as you go through the levels.
Other Basic Skills
You will learn a number of other basic skills in how to run a
session and how to respond in certain situations:
If your preclear (client) suddenly gets upset, you learn what you can do about it, and handle it before you continue.
If nothing seems to happen, you learn what to do.
If the preclear seemed to be doing great on the process, but now is bored or fed up with it, there is something you should do.
You learn all these things and many other small remedies you can apply on the spot to restore the atmosphere in the session to a productive one, that leads to a positive result and gain for your preclear.
Styles of Auditing
On different levels you will apply different styles of auditing.
Here on CT-0 it's called Listen Style. You simply have to develop your ability
to be a good and patient listener. It is kind of easy, because you don't have to
do that much. On CT-0 you just have to know that there are different styles
and at the moment you are learning Listen Style auditing. Fortunately the Listen
Style used on CT-0 is the easiest and you will have plenty of time later to
learn the other styles.
There are Basic |
General Theory Data
You will meet two types of data you will meet.
They are
general theory data, and
technical data. You will have to learn some general theory about the mind and
its
different parts.
There is the Analytical Mind. That's the rational and conscious part of your mind.
Then there is the Reactive Mind. That's the 'unconscious' part of your mind. In auditing we address mainly the unconscious or Reactive Mind.
There are the different parts of life. These are described well in Fundamentals of Thought and in other books. You should make sure you understand them well
Technical Data are the more specific theory and instructions in how to do the processes. This is what you find in this manual. By understanding this theory you get a higher certainty about what you are doing and why. When you have conquered this understanding, you will be more confident and certain about what you are doing and how to go about getting results.
Technical data results in practical actions. There is a right way to do things and there is a wrong way to do them. When you have a good understanding of the general theory and the technical data, you still have some ways to go. You have to drill everything as if it was for real. But you usually do it on a doll or a teddy bear sitting in the client chair.
You sit down at a table with the doll on the other side as if it was your preclear (client). The first part of this drilling is just to do the standard actions enough so you can do it without becoming nervous or stumble over the words. You get familiar with the situation, with writing down answers etc. This you can do by yourself without your twin being present.
On the next step your twin is sitting next to you on another chair. The doll is across from you and is your 'preclear'. Your twin tells you what the situation is and what process to run. He provides the doll with answers. He comes up with different situations and problems and you have to handle them by doing the right action. You use the manual to clear up any discussions or uncertainties. You drill different situations where you have to apply the small remedies mentioned earlier etc.
The CT
Meter
On CT-0 you will also learn to use a CT
Meter (simply called Meter in this manual).
A Meter is an
electronic instrument, that the auditor uses to know more about what is going on
with his preclear. In a sense it's a 'lie detector'. What it measures are not
lies however, but it tells the auditor if something is 'hot' and he should
follow up on it. There is a lot to know and learn about the use of this
instrument. It is usually placed on the table between the auditor and the
preclear. The preclear holds onto two cans with his hands. These are connected
to the Meter and the auditor can now see what is 'hot' and available in the
preclears (pc's) Reactive Mind, that he should follow up on and get out in the
open and thus discharge for harmful and Reactive Energy (called Charge).
As we have laid out this level, you won't need the Meter on the first part. You will do the Recall Processes without it, to give you a chance to get familiar with live auditing before we introduce it. You will experience a live preclear in a real session coming up with real answers. You will see that you can actually cause a dramatic change in another's life with auditing and that should increase your appetite. There is plenty you need to take care of just starting out; doing all the right things and keeping a written record of it. That is already quite a bit to take care of.
The recall processes done without the Meter usually give excellent gains and results - as you will read about in the book, Self Analysis. You can use that very book directly in session. The only difference from the book is, that you as an auditor ask the questions. The pc answers and you acknowledge and note down the answers. (The questions and process lists themselves can be found in the Processing Appendix).
When an auditor delivers the questions and acknowledges the answers the process runs faster and deeper. The preclear finds it gratifying to have an understanding person (auditor) taking responsibility for the communication cycle.
You will learn extensively about the CT Meter before you come to auditing the communication processes of the level. Even the communication processes have been known to run well without a Meter. But as mentioned, the Meter helps you find what is hot and what isn't, so you can concentrate on what is hot and skip over what isn't. Also the Meter is a necessary help to run the small remedies mentioned above. They are just not that easy to do right without this help.
One of the first things is to hit |
Definitions
An important part of your trade is to know a number of technical
definitions cold. This is important in learning any new subject. New trade, new
tools. New basic definitions make it possible to recognize it all, describe it and talk about it. We will go into the definitions very soon. The definitions are not a substitute for reading the mentioned books.
But you need to be highlight and fully understand them on a practical level. In
learning new materials it's important to use good study habits:
If there are words you don't understand, you need to look them up in a dictionary.
If it seems too abstract you should make a practical demonstration or a clay model to illustrate it.
If something seems too difficult, you should look earlier for other words you should have looked up when you were reading them but didn't. If that doesn't resolve the problem entirely - you should make sure your underlying knowledge is solid enough to build upon. Make sure you understand the basic knowledge first, using a dictionary and demonstrations, and then come forward to what you were trying to understand and get a practical grasp on.
Rewards
There are a lot of new things to learn on this level. The rewards
are however great. Not only do you get a practical skill you can help others
with; this new knowledge will also help you in daily life and in your practical
relationships with others.
You will experience the joy of becoming competent in helping another in session. You will see the results before your own eyes.
The prize is certainly the processing itself. Your twin will bring you up to a state of Recall Release and later Communications Release. With these new states and abilities, you will open new doors in life.
